Apertize ("we", "our", "the App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive:

• A unique Apple user identifier (anonymized)
• Your name (if you choose to share it)
• Your email (if you choose to share it, may be a relay address)

Usage Data

• Number of AI recommendation sessions used
• Dining preferences and diner profiles (stored locally on device)
• Dining history (stored locally on device)

Menu Photos

Photos you take of menus are sent to our server, which forwards them to Google Gemini AI for analysis. Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers after the response is generated.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide AI-powered menu analysis and dish recommendations
• To manage your subscription status
• To track free usage limits
• To improve the App experience

4. Data Storage

• Local data: Diner profiles, dining history, favorites, and preferences are stored on your device using SwiftData and are not transmitted to our servers.
• Authentication: Your Apple user identifier is stored in your device's Keychain for persistent authentication.
• Subscription data: Managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not store payment information.

5. Third-Party Services

• Apple (Sign in with Apple, StoreKit): For authentication and subscription management. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Google Gemini AI: Menu photos are processed through Google's Gemini API for dish recognition. See Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary to provide App functionality.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All user data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. Uninstalling the App will also remove all locally stored data.

8. Children's Privacy

Apertize is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including Keychain storage for credentials, HTTPS for all network communications, and server-side API key management.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.
